Our most popular program includes Vendor Account Set-Up, Book Design, and Distribution

Please note, all payments must be made before the book’s launch; all Ready, Set, Publish rates are honored through September 30, 2021.

VENDOR ACCOUNT SET-UP, $3,000
(with Online Preferred Vendors)

This one-time fee sets you up as an independent Author-As-Publisher, allowing you to keep 100% of your royalties, copyright, and profits. Subsequent books will only incur a minimal Title Set-up Fee (currently $1,000). Preferred-vendor online account set-up includes:

  • ISBN account set-up and ISBN assignment (see below for a list of additional direct-billed vendor fees of @ $4500 +/)*
  • Amazon/KDP account set-up (see below for additional pay-to-vendor fees)
  • Author Page set-up and updating, as needed
  • IngramSpark (IS) account set-up (see below for additional pay-to-vendor fees); distribution access through IS to 40,000+ retail connections, including Amazon and brick-and-mortar access
  • LCCN/Library of Congress account set-up (free version); filing of the completed book
  • BISAC code search and assignment
  • US Copyright Office account set-up; filing of the completed book (see below for additional pay-to-vendor fees)
  • Independent Publishing Business mentoring
  • Publishing “arm” name search and URL procurement guidance (if needed)
  • Training on how to access your dashboard on vendor websites, check sales, and order books at cost

Individual Book Title Set-up Fee, $1,000

This minimal Title Set-up Fee is for authors who already have their Preferred Vendor accounts set-up, and includes Title Assignment/Set-up for the following:

  • ISBN assignment
  • Amazon/KDP file uploads
  • Author Page updating
  • IngramSpark file uploads
  • Distribution access through IS to 40,000+ retail connections, including Amazon and brick-and-mortar access
  • LCCN/Library of Congress account set-up (free version); filing of the completed book
  • BISAC code search and assignment
  • US Copyright Office account set-up; filing of the completed book (see below for additional pay-to-vendor fees)
  • Independent Publishing Business mentoring

NOTE: For authors who may already have their accounts set up, and are hiring/working with us for the first time, additional fees may be incurred to update/correct any account settings that do not quite meet the requirements necessary for optimum author results.

PROFESSIONAL BOOK DESIGN

  • $3000 for an up to 40,000-word manuscript (250 pages or less, or text-only manuscripts / e.g.: novels)
  • $15/page for each additional page

EXPENSES

*ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TO INCLUDE in Your Budget when Becoming an Author-As-Publisher, $600 +/- (All external fees paid directly to each vendor on behalf of the author, using author's credit card on file.)

  • Any business filing fees or DBA filing fees through your State of Residence (if needed)
  • ISBNs (10 for $295) - you’ll need one for each version of your book: one for paperback, one for ebook, one for hardback, one for audio
  • Amazon/KDP account set-up fees and file upload fees are no charge
  • IngramSpark account set-up fees and file upload fees = minimum $49
  • Library-approved Copyright page
    • “Generic” LCCN is free; there are no guarantees when your book will be listed as available in libraries; it can sometimes take up to 18 months.
    • The “Expedited” LCCN version starts at $95 for your paperback or hardback, and is paid to our vetted vendor (plus e-book, $161); they get your book listed into the US Library system within two to three weeks and you have a greater chance that your book will be picked up by libraries. You will still need to contact each library in your community with a flyer/bookmark/promo card to let them know your book is available within their system. We will also have additional conversations about ways to get noticed by libraries. Fees are paid directly to the vetted vendor.
  • Sample book for review is “at cost” (ranges between $2 and $10+, depending upon the size of the book, and BW vs color)
  • US Online Copyright Fee: $65
  • Print management included: pre-and post-design/layout, average 8-12 week turnaround, based upon paperback vs. hardback cover options, and black-and-white vs. color interiors
  • Additional expenses may include marketing support, media relations, social media, website development, video services, etc., and will vary, depending upon services requested.

Content Development

Writing Coaches (our most-requested program add-on) are part development editor and part cheerleader! Our Professional Writing Coaches help you develop your words into an "easy-to-read" — no matter where you are in the process. Each manuscript is custom and unique — we do not try to fit you into a one-method-fits-all program. If you want to stay involved in the writing process, this is the perfect option for you. Pricing for individual hours starts at $150/hour.

BUY A BLOCK of 30 "Writing Coach" hours for $3700 (save >15%).

    • Includes 30 hours of one-on-one hand-holding and mentoring throughout the entire writing process
    • Access to our Writing Coaches, Editors, and Proofreaders to help you finish your book.
    • Depending upon where you are in the process, we can start with either your draft manuscript, an outline, or sometimes simply your IDEA, to help you complete your book
    • As-needed nudging to help you meet your own pre-determined writing and completion goals
    • Additional time needed with your Writing Coach, Editor, or Proofreader will continue to be invoiced at the reduced rate of $150/hour through the completion of your book.

Developmental Editors read your book, pre-layout, offering guidance on sentence structure, content, and flow — bringing clarity to the manuscript and offering an “easier read” for your audience.

Proofreaders follow your Editor and review your manuscript for grammar, punctuation, and consistency. We recommend using the Chicago Manual of Style for non-fiction books.

Ghostwriting services. Ghostwriters write your book for you, in your voice. The ghostwriters we introduce you to will range in price from $10,000 to $50,000+ per book, depending upon the subject, timeframe, length of the manuscript, and ability to have direct access to you, the author.

  1. A one-time payment entitles you to a 5% credit when paid in full, up-front via check.
  2. One or two auto-payments via credit/debit card (no discounts/no handling fees).

Any additional pre-approved expenses incurred on behalf of the author will be invoiced monthly or at the end of the project.
